IO LOGIK E1240 MOXA Remote Ethernet I/O Module
The IO LOGIK E1240 MOXA (ioLogik E1240) is an industrial-grade Ethernet remote I/O unit designed for distributed monitoring and telemetry applications. Featuring 8 software-configurable analog input channels (supporting both voltage and current signals), the IO LOGIK E1240 MOXA bridges field sensors—such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, temperature sensors, and tank level indicators—directly to Ethernet control systems via Modbus TCP or Active OPC Server communications.
Equipped with a built-in 2-port Ethernet switch, the IO LOGIK E1240 MOXA supports daisy-chain network topologies, allowing multiple remote I/O modules to be linked together without needing extra external switch ports. Built with Moxa’s Active OPC Server technology and peer-to-peer communication modes, it enables event-triggered data transmission, minimizing network bandwidth consumption while delivering high-speed updates to supervisory SCADA and PLC platforms.
Key Features of the IO LOGIK E1240 MOXA
-
8 Independent Analog Inputs: Software-configurable per channel for voltage (0–10V, ±10V, 0–5V, ±5V) or current (0–20 mA, 4–20 mA) measurements.
-
Dual-Port Ethernet Switch: Integrated 2-port 10/100 Mbps switch enables cost-effective daisy-chain wiring across control cabinets and long-distance cabling routes.
-
Active OPC Server Support: Pushes real-time I/O state updates to SCADA software on event triggers, significantly outperforming traditional polling architectures.
-
Peer-to-Peer I/O Mapping: Automatically mirrors analog input channels directly to remote analog output units (e.g., ioLogik E1262) over IP without requiring a PLC or controller.
-
User-Friendly Configuration: Simple deployment and channel calibration using Moxa’s ioSearch software utility or built-in web console.
-
Wide Operating Temperature Range: Standard operational range with optional wide-temperature (-T) models available for extreme outdoor environments (-40°C to +75°C).
Primary Applications
-
Marine & Vessel Telemetry: Transmitting analog engine parameters (oil pressure, exhaust temperature, power/torque readings) to centralized bridge SCADA systems
-
Process & Power Monitoring: Collecting 4-20 mA signals from flow, level, and voltage transducers across water treatment or power plant facilities
-
Factory Automation: Interfacing process-level sensors with centralized PLCs, HMIs, or cloud-edge industrial automation platforms
