NGT-1 ACTISENSE NMEA 2000 to PC Gateway Interface

The NGT-1 ACTISENSE is an intelligent, bidirectional NMEA 2000 to PC gateway engineered to transfer raw CAN-bus vessel data between onboard marine sensor networks and PC-based navigation software, marine display systems, and vessel telematics platforms. Available in USB (NGT-1-USB) and Opto-Isolated Serial (NGT-1-ISO) variants, the NGT-1 ACTISENSE provides a secure, fully compliant bridge for reading and writing NMEA 2000 Parameter Group Numbers (PGNs).

Featuring Actisense’s proprietary firewall technology and galvanic isolation (ISO version: 1500 V input-to-output), the NGT-1 ACTISENSE prevents ground loops and voltage spikes from corrupting connected PC hardware or disturbing primary vessel navigation buses. It is natively supported by leading marine navigation suites including TimeZero (MaxSea), OpenCPN, Expedition, Actisense NMEA Reader, and custom SCADA telematics software.

Key Features of the NGT-1 ACTISENSE

• Bidirectional NMEA 2000 Data Transfer: Enables PC software applications to receive real-time engine, GPS, wind, and AIS telemetry while transmitting navigation waypoints and control commands back to the network.

• Galvanic & Opto-Isolation: Protects PC serial ports and onboard computers against dangerous ground loops, static discharges, and electrical transients.

• Advanced Firmware Filtering: Ensures raw PGN messages are validated and packaged securely before reaching third-party software applications.

• Diagnostic Compatibility with NMEA Reader: Integrates directly with free Actisense NMEA Reader diagnostic software to inspect, analyze, and log NMEA 2000 network health, node IDs, and bus loads.

• Plug-and-Play USB or ISO Options: Offered as NGT-1-USB for direct PC connection or NGT-1-ISO for opto-isolated connection to RS-422/RS-232 COM ports or industrial controllers.

• 100% NMEA 2000 Certified: Fully compliant with NMEA 2000 standards, ensuring seamless operability alongside Garmin, Raymarine, Furuno, Simrad, Lowrance, and B&G devices.

Primary Applications

• PC-Based Marine Navigation: Feeding position, heading, depth, AIS, and weather telemetry into PC chartplotter software (TimeZero, OpenCPN, Rose Point)

• Vessel Telemetry & SCADA Integration: Interfacing NMEA 2000 marine networks with industrial controllers, remote telemetry logging systems, or custom vessel management software

• Marine Network Diagnostics: Allowing marine technicians to identify network faults, monitor bus load, and troubleshoot device configuration using Actisense NMEA Reader
